The Frankfort Parks, Recreation and Historic Sites Department and the City of Frankfort have created a foundation to promote and receive monetary donations that are tax deductible and benefit both the donator(s) and the park system. Our mission is to benefit and improve youth and adult recreation opportunities, activities, programs, facilities and overall quality of life in the City of Frankfort.
Examples of Donations at Work
- Youth athletics scholarships for under privileged children and families
- Sports equipment for under privileged children
- Supplies and materials for youth neighborhood playgrounds and programs
- Parks facility upgrades in park areas serving Frankfort neighborhoods such as playground upgrades
- Walking and hiking trails and other fitness facilities
- Playing fields and courts such as baseball, basketball, softball, & tennis
And many other facilities, programs, and opportunities!
Below you will see three options for much appreciated donations.
1. Park General Donation Fund: accepts general donations small and large for various park programs, facilities improvements, etc. that can either be specific projects, programs or facilities or donations can be accepted for general improvements at the parks department discretion.
2. Parks Endowed Fund: a fund where typically larger donations and gifts can be given and will be invested and managed in the stock market over time and the parks will receive interest benefits that will support the parks endlessly.
3. Frankfort Tree Planting Project: supports the newly implemented plan to replenish and maintain a healthy tree canopy in the City of Frankfort that provides endless benefits to the environment, tourism, the economy and quality of life.
All these funds provide flexibility for the donor to specifically select what their donation goes for or allows for flexibility for the donor to be more general in nature.
