Give Me Shelter is a project initiated by members of the Frankfort community to construct an umbrella alley in downtown Frankfort as a way to raise funds for The Frankfort CARES Coalition, an umbrella organization for homeless and service agencies in Frankfort.
The goal of Frankfort's project is to involve the entire community in a downtown beautification project that provides an aesthetic, tourism, and economic development impact while providing an opportunity to support a local nonprofit. Because of the use of umbrellas and the benefit to the CARES Coalition, which supports Frankfort’s homelessness agencies, the project has been named "Give Me Shelter."
By making a donation to the Give Me Shelter project, your contribution will benefit the CARES Coalition and will be signified by the umbrellas in the umbrella alley.
Donors will be recognized at the Give Me Shelter ribbon cutting event
Wednesday, November 9 at The Foundry on Broadway.
The Frankfort CARES Coalition is a resource organization that supports and strengthens nonprofit agencies who are ensuring access to shelter, food, healthcare, mental health assistance, affordable housing, and other basic needs and opportunities to individuals in our community. CARES will be composed of Frankfort and Franklin County agencies who address needs in these areas and will work to collectively expand the capacity of these organizations.
